Let’s Chat! Your Most Asked Questions: May

Every month, I get so many thoughtful questions over on Instagram — about current projects, materials I’m using, design choices, and everyday life. I love seeing what you’re curious about, so I’m rounding everything up here in one easy place!

Let’s jump into your May questions!

Home Details

Q: Do you have links for the closet organizers in the girls’ room?

Yes! I’ve linked everything I used in an Amazon list to make it easy to shop.

Q: How do you keep kids’ drawers organized?

One thing that’s worked really well for us is rolling clothes instead of folding them. I also use drawer dividers to create sections — it makes everything easier to see and keeps things from getting messy too quickly.

Q: How did you get the lights to stay in the secret passageway?

I used small dots of hot glue to secure them in place. It’s simple, but it works really well and now the space feels a little more magical.

Q: Favorite places to buy wallpaper?

Some of my go-to brands are Sandberg Wallpaper, Tempaper & Co., Wall Blush (great for peel & stick), and Lulu & Georgia. Each one has such beautiful options depending on the look you’re going for.

Q: How did you handle the floor vent so it’s not blocked by the bench?

I designed the baseboards to stay open, which allows airflow while keeping everything looking seamless.

Q: What cushions and stain-blocking spray did you use?

I found these cushions on Amazon. White was a risk, so I bought this stain-blocking spray — so far they’re holding up!

Q: Can you open drawers and the back storage without removing the cushions?

Yes! Everything is still functional. I just remove the pillows if I need to take anything larger out.

Q: What gel stain and paint combo did you use on your dining room table?

I painted it with a coat of Yarn by Magnolia, then mixed 1 part Simply White Minwax gel stain with 3 parts Aged Oak Minwax gel stain. Used a firm brush to add the gel stain over the paint, brushing continuously in the direction of the wood grain, then once dry I sealed the table with 3 coats of Varathane crystal clear matte poly.

Style

Q: Jean shorts link?

I don’t know why, but finding jean shorts that fit just right and hit the perfect length is tricky. These are one of the few pairs that actually do both.

Q: Where are your jelly sandals from?

Anthropologie! They’re such a fun summer staple.

Kitchen & Food

Q: What gluten-free tortellini did you use — and do you like it?

I used the Taste Republic four cheese gluten-free tortellini, and I honestly love it. It’s one of the best GF options I’ve tried.

Q: Where’s your dining room rug from?

Loloi! The colors are stunning, and I love that it’s washable.
