The cutest playroom makeover EVER! And to think it

The cutest playroom makeover EVER! And to think it all started when I was just going to patch the ceiling and call it a day 🤣

I added simple box beams - no fancy joints! I just glued and nailed 1x6 pine together, screwed supports into the ceiling, then nailed the 3 sided beam into the supports.

I added new crown on the cabinets, then began touching up paint when I realized I wanted the ceiling to be Ella Rose by Magnolia.

Then the cabinets needed to be Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore.

THEN I painted the countertops to look like marble and epoxied over them so they’d be easier to keep clean.

I added some cute shelves, a new chandelier, swapped in a different sofa, and added the cutest rug from @boutiquerugs to pull it all together (AD).

When you start the week “just patching up the ceiling in the playroom” and that spirals into beams… a pink ceiling, a chandelier, and now… A NEW CABINET PAINT COLOR… and maybe new countertops too 😅

I wish I could say this was the first time something like this has happened but… you know me 😆 no one’s surprised 😆

Now… should I update the green cabinets to white or pink??

Like totally and completely done. Over the past 6 weeks, we’ve…

- Added trim feature walls
- Added crown moulding
- Painted the ceiling
- Given the fireplace a makeover
- Framed out the tv
- Built nightstands
- Built a bed
- Built a side table
- Built a faux leather bench
- Made over 2 IKEA dressers
- Tiled the vanity wall
- Cut our own marble countertops
- Organized everything
- Added new window treatments

Am I missing anything?

It’s been a whirlwind of fun and I just keep staring at the difference it’s all made! Thanks for cheering me on through this one! ❤️

Talk about having your cake and eating it too! We loved our bamboo shades in here, but they let so much light in. We kept going back and forth on light filtering shades and blackout shades to really keep the light out in the morning.

Then we discovered that with these @graywindblinds we got on Amazon, we can have BOTH 🤯. This is The Duel Shade. There’s a light filtering shade & a black out shade tucked back behind this pretty valance. I went with linen beige for all the components, but you can switch things up if you want!

The best part - they’re completely motorized and programmable! They come with a remote & I set them up on my iPhone so with a touch of a button, our shades will open and close. You can even schedule them 🙌
