This blog post is sponsored by Dimplex and reflects my true thoughts and feelings on the product.
There’s nothing better than springtime, right? Temperatures warming up, birds chirping, and the feeling you get when you can finally getting back outdoors.
But after a long, harsh winter, my deck had seen better days. So I took it upon myself to give it a little one day refresh so we would actually want to get outside and enjoy the fresh air!
I grabbed a little paint, some stain, and a new Dimplex DIRP Outdoor Infrared Heater (because even though the air is a little warmer, it can still get cool in the mornings and evenings), and I got to work!

1-DAY DECK REFRESH & WARM UP WITH DIMPLEX
STEP 1: RE-STAIN THE WOOD

After a summer of direct sunlight and all kinds of weather that followed in the wintertime, my table and window box were stripped, sun bleached, and weathered.
So I gave them a good sanding and grabbed some Golden Oak stain! It brought them back to life in the best way!

Then I sealed everything with a Spar Urethane so it would hold up a little better over time.
STEP 2: UPDATE THE PLANTER & FURNITURE
Next, I had a planter that was starting to fall apart, so I fixed it up and added a fresh coat of paint! Have I mentioned lately that paint is magic?

Five minutes later, it was like I had a brand new planter!
Speaking of brand new…
Sometimes instead of buying brand new furniture and decor, I simply rotate things around to different rooms. And that’s exactly what I did on the deck! Once I moved a few items from the patio up the the deck, things were really starting to look good!
STEP 3: WARM THINGS UP

And even though it all looked good… it had to FEEL good too! Like I mentioned earlier, sometimes it can still get a little cool in the evenings, but our kids want to stay outside and play as long as possible!
So I wanted to make sure we could sit on the deck comfortably while we watch them play.
I had always wanted to install a heater, but I never wanted something I had to hardwire in – it needed to be simple.
So when I found this Dimplex DIRP Outdoor Infrared Heater, I knew it would be perfect!
It was so simple to install. I simply mounted a bracket into the studs behind our siding and hung the heater up!
It’s compact and sleek so it blends beautifully with the deck, but it’s super effective!
It has 3 heat settings, heats up in as little as 6 seconds, and has an automatic shut off. Oh, and did I mention it just plugs right in?
STEP 4: ENJOY THE SPACE

And now with just one day of work, we have a fresh, new, WARM deck we can enjoy from spring into fall all thanks to Dimplex!
