Instead of a Friday Favorites this week where I link up all the most asked about items of the week, I thought we would do something a little different.
If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know that I’m giving my basement a makeover one room at a time.
Next week, I’m moving away from my basement kitchenette and floors to start tackling the media room.
Our media room is open to the rest of the basement, so I want the same design to flow throughout all the open spaces.
I went very neutral in my kitchenette, focusing on black and white with natural wood tones.
So guess what we’re doing in the media room?
Ding, ding, ding! The same basic thing!
I got a lot of inspiration from Wayfair for this media room refresh, so today I’m sharing 6 items that inspired the design of this space!
And lucky you… you’re basically getting a sneak preview of the room design!!

FRIDAY FAVORITES: MEDIA ROOM EDITION
We love our giant gray/beige sectional and the media console we have in the space already, but there is nothing to it when it comes to design elements.
It’s been a catch-all for extra pillows and blankets, and the television hasn’t even been mounted on the wall yet.
So when I started looking for items to give this space a facelift that would also play well with the items in there already, I immediately headed to Wayfair because… well… they’ve got just what I need. See what I did there?
And here’s what I discovered…
See where I’m going with this space now?
AIRY, YET MOODY MEDIA ROOM
It’s a media room, so I want it to be darker and a little more moody than my usual design.
But I still want it to have that light and airy feel.
So along with the grays and dark accents, I also want to pull in light wood tones and whites.
And so much texture, of course!
Now, this is just a quick sneak peek at my inspiration to help you get a visual!
So make sure you’re following along on Instagram as this room comes together over the next couple of weeks!
Which item is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
